Dropped $180 on a power stretcher, and my knees have never been happier
I picked up a used power stretcher off a retired guy in Fresno last spring for $180, and it was either going to save my body or just sit in the corner of the van forever. Turned out it was the best money I've spent on this trade, since I stopped crawling on my knees to kick every room tight and my back quit screaming at me after a 3 room day. What tool did you buy that you thought was a waste but ended up earning its keep?
A power stretcher saving your knees is a bit of a stretch, no pun intended. I have used one for years and you still spend plenty of time on the floor cutting in and hooking the head, so the whole "never crawling again" thing does not add up for me. $180 for a used one in Fresno sounds like a fair deal, but I would want to know how many rooms a day you were doing before to make a 3 room day feel like a win. Maybe the real fix was just slowing down and not killing yourself, not the tool.
