Compared power stretchers vs knee kickers for my last big job

I had to carpet a 3,000 square foot office in Austin last month and used a knee kicker for the first half like I always do. Switched to a rented power stretcher for the second half and the seams came out way tighter with way less effort. Anybody else tried both and noticed a big difference in how the carpet lays down?

Were you working with residential or commercial carpet on that job? The pad density makes a huge difference in how much the power stretcher actually pulls things tight.

Man that hits close to home. I had a similar experience on a big retail space last year and the knee kicker just wasnt cutting it on the heavy commercial pad. Switching to the power stretcher felt like night and day honestly. The seams laid flat and didnt curl up at all which saved me from having to go back and pound them down again. Commercial carpet especially just needs that extra pull to get it tight or youll be fighting wrinkles forever. Glad you made the switch too because it really does make the job way less of a pain.
