90 degree heat turned my self leveler into instant concrete

Last Thursday I figured I'd speed things up on a 300 sq ft living room by using self leveler straight out the bag with cold water. Big mistake. It set up in like 8 minutes and I was still spreading it with a gauge rake when it turned to peanut butter. I slipped on the mess trying to grab my spiked shoes, landed ass first in a fresh puddle, and spent the next hour chiseling dried leveler off my jeans and the floor. The homeowner walked in mid disaster and deadpanned, "Looks like you're bonding with the subfloor." Honestly, that stuff is no joke when the temp is 95 degrees, and now I always add the retarder no matter how rushed I am. Anyone else had a leveler pour go sideways on a hot day, or is it just me?}
