Used to nail baseboards straight to studs, now I glue and screw after a job in Boise cost me $300
For years I just shot 16 gauge nails into the studs and called it done. Then a homeowner in Boise called me back two weeks later because every joint had opened up about 1/8 inch when the heat kicked on. Now I run a bead of construction adhesive and add a screw at each stud, and I have not had a single callback in 14 months. Anyone else switch to glue on trim, or am I overdoing it?
