Saw a truss lift in Tacoma that made me double check my straps

Watched a crew set a 40 foot truss with a crane last Tuesday. They used two straps with no spreader bar, top chord started bowing sideways. I yelled over but the foreman said it was fine, done it for years. Nobody got hurt but that thing flexed bad. Anyone else seen close calls with truss lifting setups?

Straps flexing is normal, spreader bars aren't always needed if rated right.
