PSA: I hit 500 board feet of walnut cut in a single day and my saw told me to stop

Was working on a big custom cabinet job and needed a ton of face frame stock. My saw's hour meter rolled over to 500 board feet processed by lunch. The motor housing was so hot you couldn't touch it, and it started making a high-pitched whine I'd never heard before. I shut it down right away and let it cool for two hours. It's fine now, but I was pushing it way harder than I should have just to meet a deadline. Has anyone else had a tool basically scream at them from overuse?

Push through that much walnut in a few hours and you're basically asking the motor to melt down. That whine was the windings screaming for mercy before they let the smoke out.

My old planer screamed like that once.

Wait, you cut 500 board feet by lunch? How is that even possible without the saw catching fire?
