Old timer at a job site in Reno said my saw horses were the problem, not my blade
About 3 months ago I was cutting 2x8 rafters on a house in Reno and getting tear out no matter what blade I put on my circular saw. An old timer walked by and said my saw horses were sagging in the middle so the wood was pinching the blade on the cut. I checked them with a straight edge and he was right, the middle was down almost 3/8 of an inch. I built a new pair out of doubled 2x4s with a plywood top and my cuts came out clean with the same blade I was about to toss. Cost me $22 in lumber and an hour of my Saturday. Now I check my horses before I blame my tools. What do you all use for support when you are cutting long stock by yourself?
