My miter saw kicked back on a 12 foot baseboard and I had to rethink how I feed the blade
Was trimming out a finished basement in Naperville last Tuesday and got lazy on a long baseboard piece, feeding it fast through my miter saw without a support block on the outfeed side. The board grabbed and kicked back about a foot before it stopped, scared the hell out of me and nicked the drywall behind me. I rigged up a roller stand and a stop block after that, and now the last 20 feet of that run cut clean with no scary moments. Anyone got a better way to support long stock on the outfeed when you're working alone?
Kicked back about a foot" is pretty wild but honestly that's just a dull blade or feeding it crooked. People act like every kickback is a near death experience when half the time the board just jumps a little. Get a roller stand and stop overthinking it lol.
