Just saw a crew in my town using the wrong nails for pressure-treated deck framing, and it's going to cause problems in a few years.

Maybe they know something you don't." I'll give you that, maybe they're using stainless steel nails on a budget build. But let's be real, most crews using the wrong fasteners aren't being clever, they're being cheap. Hot-dipped galvanized or stainless are the standard for a reason in treated lumber, and regular nails will corrode and pop in a few years like clockwork. I could see this being a local code thing if they're using some weird alternative that holds up okay in your area, but I doubt it.

Honestly @jana_henderson52, that's the kind of quiet truth that keeps me up at night.
