Just hit 5000 board feet of rough sawn oak this year

I was tallying up my stock for a big dining table project and realized I've gone through 5000 board feet of rough sawn oak since January. That's about 20 trees worth of lumber from the sawmill up in Manchester. Has anyone else tracked their total usage for a year and been surprised by the number?

You ever look at your stack of lumber and think "man, that's a lot of wood... and I'm still not done with that one project"? I'm sitting at around 4,200 board feet of rough sawn oak this year myself, mostly for table tops and shelving. Every time I think I'm caught up, I find another excuse to buy more slabs. At this rate, my workshop is gonna start charging me rent.

20 trees? Holy crap, I didn't know you could buy that many from Manchester.

Yeah @julia_burns9, it's wild what they'll sell you if you show up with a trailer and a checkbook. I bought 12 trees from a guy in New Hampshire last spring and my wife just looked at the pile and said "that's our retirement savings, isn't it?" Honestly though, I keep finding excuses to grab more. Got another 6 coming in next week from a local mill that's clearing some property. My garage is starting to look like a really expensive bonfire waiting to happen.
