Found a trick for setting cabinet doors perfectly level

Last week I was fighting with a new kitchen install and a guy walked over and showed me how to use a 6-inch drywall square instead of a level on the hinges. Has anyone else tried this or am I late to the party?

Wait, you mean you've been eyeballing hinges with a level this whole time? That's like using a sledgehammer to hang a picture.

That drywall square trick is great for speed because it keeps you from having to balance a level on the hinge screws. Have you found it works better on soft-close hinges versus the old standard ones?
