Debate: Should we fix an old framing nailer or just buy a new one?

My Paslode broke mid-job last Tuesday on a deck build - the air leak got worse after I replaced the o-rings. I spent 3 hours trying to track down the issue, and now I'm wondering if putting $80 into parts is worth it or if I should just drop $250 on a replacement. Has anyone else dealt with this choice on older tools?

Went through this exact same thing with a Hitachi nailer last year. Figured out the rebuild kit cost $65 installed and a new one was $180, so I just bought the new tool and tossed the old one in the scrap pile. Saved me the headache of chasing leaks again and I was back on the job the same afternoon.

I read somewhere that a lot of times the main body on these older nailers gets worn out around where the seals sit, so even new o-rings won't fix the air leak. You could be chasing that problem for ages. I'd probably go with the new tool and just keep the old one for spare parts.
