Blew a hole through my drywall with a nail gun yesterday

Was hanging some baseboards in my own living room, got in a rush, and the gun double-fired on me. Next thing I know there's a 2 inch hole in the wall behind where the trim was supposed to go. Had to stop everything, patch it up with some scrap drywall and spackle, and wait an hour for it to dry before I could even start over. Anyone else have a nail gun moment that made you want to throw the thing out the window?

You said "got in a rush" - were you using a framing nailer on baseboards? Because those things have WAY too much power for trim work and that's probably why it blew a hole. I learned that lesson the hard way years ago on a kitchen remodel. A finish nailer is what you want for baseboards, it sinks the nail flush without blasting through the drywall. Did you at least have the depth adjustment dialed in or did you just crank it to max like I usually do

Feel you on that @victorcoleman... I did the exact same thing with a framing nailer on some casings once and it looked like a shotgun blast. Took me forever to patch and repaint.
