Appreciation post: Found an old framing crew photo from 2008 yesterday

Was cleaning out my truck and found a picture of my first real framing crew back in 2008. We were building a house in the Oak Hills subdivision. The difference in how we worked then versus now is wild. Back then we were using mostly Skilsaw worm drives and old 18V cordless drills. Now I got guys with track saws and impact drivers that weigh nothing. The pace is different too. We used to spend half the day just getting tools set up right. Has anyone else noticed how much faster job sites move compared to 10 years ago?

Keep that photo somewhere safe, you'll be amazed how much you learn from looking back at how you used to do things. A lot of the old timers I've worked with swear by setting up your workstation the night before so you're not wasting daylight sorting tools. Speeding up the job is nice, but making sure your guys don't burn out from rushing is the real key.

Old me would've spent an hour untangling extension cords before even touching a nail gun.
