A client in Phoenix pointed out my miter cuts were off by a hair

He said he could see a tiny gap in the crown molding when the light hit it just right. I switched from my old miter saw to a digital angle finder and started checking each cut twice. How do you guys make sure your trim work is perfect every time?

My uncle in Tucson used to say you can fill a hairline gap with toothpaste and sawdust. He was a cheap guy, but it actually works in a pinch.

Works in a pinch" is a stretch. That paste is going to shrink and crack in no time. It might look okay for a day, but then you're just left with a crumbly mess to clean out. Why go through all that trouble for a fix that won't last?

My Milwaukee angle finder changed everything.
