Why does nobody talk about keeping a feedback journal?
I mean, I used to really dread getting notes on my projects. Then I began writing down each bit of advice next to one thing I did well. Idk, maybe it's just me, but this stopped me from feeling down. I started this after a group said my presentation needed more facts. Now I look back and see how much I've grown, and it's a game changer.

Honestly my feedback journal is mostly just me writing "breathe next time" after every public speaking note. Tbh it's a miracle I haven't filled a whole book with that one.

Seems like a lot of extra busywork to me. Writing down every little critique just gives those negative comments more power and makes you dwell on them longer. I knew someone who filled a whole notebook with feedback and it just made them anxious, constantly looking for mistakes before anyone else could point them out. Sometimes the healthiest thing is to hear the note, fix what you can, and then move on without making a permanent record of your faults. All that documenting can turn into a ritual of reliving criticism instead of letting it go.

Tried something like that after my boss kept pointing out tiny errors in my reports. Started writing his nitpicks in black pen and my wins in blue right next to them. Flipping through the old pages now, the blue stuff is what I notice first... it totally changed how I hear criticism. That little book went from a list of faults to proof I was actually getting better.
