Question about turning down the $8,000 pay bump because of the title
Last Friday my manager at the warehouse in Reno pulled me into the little office by the loading dock and offered me a shift lead role with about $8,000 more a year, but the title was 'assistant coordinator' with no direct reports. I said no on the spot, which my wife thinks was dumb, because I already supervise 14 pickers and I wasn't about to take a fancy word for less actual power. Has anyone here taken a title downgrade with a raise and had it help or hurt when they applied for their next job?
