My old boss said something over lunch in Denver that finally made job hunting click for me
I grabbed lunch with my old manager from my first job, and I was complaining about sending out 30 applications with zero callbacks. She asked how many of those jobs I actually wanted, and I could only name 4. Then she said she always spends 80% of her search time on 10 jobs she really wants and the calls come way faster. I tried it this month, and I already got 2 interviews out of 6 apps. Do you focus your applications on a few jobs you actually want, or do you cast a wide net?
