Is chasing a passion worth the pay cut or should you stick with the stable gig?
I've been going back and forth on this for months. My buddy Jake took a 40% pay cut to work at a small eco-friendly construction startup here in Portland, and he says he's never been happier even though money is tight. Meanwhile, I'm in the same boat at my big commercial firm, making good money but feeling like I'm just grinding. For those who made the switch, did the fulfillment actually outweigh the financial stress or did you end up regretting it? I'd love to hear real numbers and stories.
