Had to choose between a stable office job and a freelance gig paying 40% more

I picked the freelance offer in Austin back in March, but now I'm wondering if the stability was worth it since projects have been drying up. Anyone else made a similar leap and regretted it or found it worked out?

I mean is it really THAT big of a deal? Freelance always has slow months, that's just how it works.

Took a similar leap last year and yeah, slow months hit hard sometimes but the good months make up for it.
