Had a total brain freeze during a client pitch in Denver last week
I completely blanked on our pricing model for a solid 30 seconds. I just said 'let me circle back on that' and moved to the next slide, then emailed the numbers after. Anyone else have a good recovery line for when you freeze up?
Been there lol. My go-to is saying "let me double check my notes to make sure I give you the exact breakdown" which sounds way more prepared than just blanking. @wren_rodriguez is right that they notice, but owning it calmly makes it less awkward. I once forgot a product name and just said "the one with the blue interface" while I found it, and the client laughed with me. The key is to not panic and keep talking.
