Had a talk with a retired engineer at the library about resumes and it hit different

He told me to stop listing my duties and start listing the dollar amounts I saved or made. I went back and added $12,000 in cost reductions from my last job and got two callbacks this week. Has anyone else tried this approach with their work history?

Huh, I'm not sold on that honestly. It feels a little too salesy for a resume.

Did you see that study from the National Association of Colleges and Employers where they found resumes with quantified results got 40% more interviews? It's not just the dollar amounts either. Things like "cut processing time by 15%" or "managed a team of 8 people" count just as much. That retired engineer gave you good advice. Seems like most hiring managers just skim resumes and numbers make them stop and actually read.
