Back in 2015 at a small agency in Portland an intern showed me how she organized her emails with labels

I was the guy with 3,000 unread messages thinking I was too busy to sort anything. She had everything filed by project and client with filters auto-sorting everything before she even looked at it. Has anyone else had a junior person completely change how they work?

Wait, did you ever find out what happened to that intern? I had a similar thing back when I first started my last job. There was this college kid who showed me how to use the search feature in our project management tool. I had been clicking through every folder manually like some sort of caveman. It took me like a month to really get comfortable with it but once I did it cut my work time by at least an hour each day. I mean I feel kinda dumb for not figuring it out myself but hey at least I learned something useful. It's funny how the people you least expect can teach you the most practical stuff.

Saw a study once that said people who struggle with simple tech stuff actually end up more creative because they figure out workarounds first. Kinda tracks with what you're saying about learning from the intern, those shortcuts become golden once you finally find them. Funny how the person who looks least experienced can drop knowledge bombs that change your whole workflow.
