My cat claimed my cardboard laptop stand and now it's a pet bed

I spent a solid 3 hours this past Saturday cutting and folding a reinforced laptop stand out of a double-walled box from a fridge delivery. Looked awesome, super sturdy, I was pretty proud of it. Walked away to grab coffee, came back and my 14 pound cat Mango was sprawled across the top platform like it was a luxury penthouse. She fits perfectly, the little divot I made for the laptop edges is apparently her ideal hip cradle. I tried to move her and got the slow blink of death, so I just gave up and ordered a cheap plastic stand instead. Has anyone else had their cardboard creation stolen by a pet, and do you just roll with it or fight for your build back?

Did your cat leave bite marks in the cardboard? Mine chewed my phone stand into confetti.
