My cardboard rocket ship crumpled during the school science fair because I skipped the tape
I spent about 6 hours building a 5 foot tall rocket out of moving boxes for my son's science fair at Lincoln Elementary last Friday. I used mostly hot glue and figured that was enough to hold the fins on, but when we carried it through the gym doors one fin folded in half and the nose cone flopped over in front of everyone. I ran back to the car, grabbed the packing tape I always keep in the trunk, and taped the whole base together in about 3 minutes while he held the door open. It looked a little junky but it held up through the judging. What's your go to way to brace a tall cardboard build so it survives being moved around?
