My cardboard rocket ship collapsed mid-launch at my kid's party
Built this big rocket out of appliance boxes for my son's 6th birthday, looked amazing for like an hour. The nose cone started sagging right when the kids were doing the countdown in the backyard. Turns out I used way too much hot glue on the fins and not enough support on the top section, so the whole thing folded like wet paper. I grabbed some spare strips and duct tape and built a quick internal frame from a cereal box, managed to prop it back up just in time for the cake. Has anyone else had a build fail right at the worst moment and have to MacGyver a fix while a bunch of kids watch?
My buddy had a LEGO castle tower do the exact same thing at his nephew’s party, it leaned over right as they sang happy birthday. He shoved a rolled-up shipping box up the middle and wrapped it in tin foil so it looked like a wizard spire, kids totally bought it. That quick fix saved the whole vibe, sometimes you just gotta fake it till the cake comes out.
