Just realized my 47th cardboard box creation was the first one I actually finished

I started making a castle out of boxes back in March (you know, a big one with turrets and a drawbridge). Got distracted halfway through and it sat in my garage for 3 months. Last weekend I finally glued on the last tower and counted up all my past projects - 46 half-done forts and furniture pieces before that one. Has anyone else hit a weird number like that where something finally clicked and you saw a project through to the end?

That's a good point about the drawbridge. I used to think finishing a project was just about willpower and sticking with it no matter what. But you're right that there's something different about having moving parts that forces you to solve real problems instead of just slapping things together. For years I'd stack boxes into a fort shape, get bored, and walk away because there was no real challenge left. The drawbridge was the first time I had to figure out how to make a hinge work with cardboard and string, and that puzzle kept me coming back even when I was tired after work. I think you nailed it - the engineering part is what finally made me see something through to the end.

Your drawbridge was the key difference there. Those moving parts force you to solve the real engineering problems instead of just stacking boxes. What made you finally push through the last tower instead of letting it rot in the garage again?
