Hot take: I think hot glue ruins more cardboard builds than it saves

I tried building a helmet with just hot glue and it held for like 2 days then just fell apart under the weight. Now I'm wondering if basic white glue is actually better because it soaks into the cardboard and makes it stronger. Anyone else find hot glue fails on bigger projects?

Oh man, I've been there too. Hot glue is super convenient but it just doesn't have the strength for anything with weight to it. White glue really does soak into the cardboard fibers way better and makes everything feel more solid once it dries. I've started using a mix - white glue for the main structure and then just a tiny bit of hot glue to hold things in place while the white glue cures.

Yo @king.lisa totally nailed it with that glue mix tip! I actually watched a test video where someone compared different glues on cardboard and white glue won by a lot for strength.
