PSA: I had to choose between a $80 'waterproof' sleeping bag and a $200 one rated for 15 degrees.
I went cheap for a trip to the White Mountains and woke up soaked from condensation at 3 AM, so has anyone found a solid budget bag that actually works in damp conditions?

Honestly the real issue might be your tent's air flow, not just the bag. A lot of those cheaper bags have a coating that just traps all your body moisture inside. Maybe look into a simple bag liner that wicks sweat away, it's a cheaper fix than a whole new bag. That damp cold is the worst, makes you never want to skimp again.

Damp cold is the worst, makes you never want to skimp again" - I mean, I get it's annoying but is it really that serious? You wake up a little clammy and cold, not like you're stranded in the Arctic or something.

My last cheap bag turned into a sponge somewhere near Franconia Ridge.
