Met a guy on the Superior Hiking Trail who said my 65 liter pack was 'glamping gear' and it made me rethink everything.

But what if he's just having a really bad week? Maybe he's dealing with a ton of stress we don't know about, like a family crisis or getting fired. Sometimes people act like a jerk because they're drowning in their own problems and lash out.

Why does it matter what some stranger thinks about your pack? You're the one carrying it, not him. A 65 liter pack is fine for most trips, especially if you're new to backpacking or have gear that doesn't compress well. People get weirdly elitist about gear, acting like there's one right way to do things. If you're getting out there and hiking, you're doing it right. Don't let some gatekeeper make you second guess your setup.
