Lost my whole campsite setup near Lake Tahoe last August after ignoring a worn tent stake.
A sudden gust at 2 AM ripped the fly clean off and sent my gear tumbling down the hill, so now I check every stake before I leave the house and ask you what kind of stakes do you swear by for windy nights?

Drove right past a busted tent stake at REI the other day and it reminded me how we all ignore those little warning signs until stuff blows up on us.

Sometimes we just need a break. The tent stake was fine.
