Honestly, a guide in Moab told me my 65L pack was overkill for a weekend trip

He said 'You're carrying your fears, not your gear,' which really stuck with me. Has anyone else had a pro challenge your basic setup like that?

Ever had a friend just call you out like that? That guide was right on the money. I used to pack for every "what if" until a buddy saw my bag and just laughed. Now I try to pack only what I know I'll really use, not what I'm scared might happen. It's a hard habit to break, honestly.

Yeah, but I still pack a spare charger. That "what if" is basically a sure thing.
