Appreciation post: the tarp under my tent at Harriman State Park
Last weekend I camped at Harriman and woke up to a stream running right under my tent. The ground was mush everywhere else, but my floor stayed dry because I bothered to lay down a 10 dollar poly tarp folded under the footprint. I used to skip that step thinking it was overkill, but after seeing 3 other tents pack up soaked, I get it now. Anyone else had a cheap tarp save a whole trip or is this just obvious to everyone but me?

Respect the tarp, respect the prep, it saves way more than tents.
