TIL you can fix a stuck shutter curtain on an old leaf shutter with just a drop of lighter fluid
Had a Compur shutter on a 1960s folder that was locking up every other shot, tried cleaning the blades with alcohol and it still stuck, but one tiny drop of Ronsonol on the pivot points and it's been firing perfectly for 3 days now, anyone else use this trick for sticky shutters?

Swore it was just old wives' tale stuff until my Kodak Retina froze up mid-roll last month. Figured what the hell, tried it, and now it's smoother than my newer cameras. Honestly surprised me how well it works.

My old photography buddy swore by this trick for years, said he saved a 1950s Rolleiflex with just a drop of charcoal lighter fluid. I finally tried it on a sticky Agfa Isolette and it worked way better than I expected, the blades snap open like new now.
