TIL my shutter was capping at 1/1000 and I only caught it after 2 rolls of ruined shots
Shot a roll at the lake in Tacoma last weekend and every frame past 1/500 came back with a black bar on the right side, which is when it hit me that the second curtain was lagging and I should have tested it months ago instead of assuming my meter was the problem, so has anyone here fixed this on a vertical-travel cloth shutter without pulling the whole mirror box?

Sounds like you just need to clean and lube the curtain rails.
