TIL a single stripped screw on a Canon AE-1 ate up my whole Saturday

I figured it was a 20 minute fix until the head rounded out and I had to drill it out with a Dremel, which took me about 5 hours total. Do you all reach for the drill right away on stuck screws or do you keep soaking them in penetrating oil first?
