Skipping the bend test on a $60 CL find cost me an afternoon in Reno
Three years ago I picked up a 'parts only' rangefinder at a Reno flea market and skipped checking the film advance because the seller swore it just needed a new battery. Turns out the sprocket teeth were chewed up, so I lost an afternoon tearing down a body I couldn't save. Any of you ever just eat the loss on a cheap buy instead of fixing it for the fun of it?
