Shoutout to the retired guy in Tucson who walked me through a Minolta shutter job over the phone
I had a customer's Minolta SRT 101 sitting on my bench for 11 days with a shutter that would hang open at 1/60, and I was about ready to give up and hand it back. A retired repair guy named Walt in Tucson spent 40 minutes on the phone with me walking through the curtain tension and the rail cleaning, and the thing fired clean on all speeds the next morning. I charged the customer $95 and honestly felt like I should mail Walt half of it. What older repair folks have bailed you out of a jam like that?
