It was wedged behind the shutter curtains, of all places.

Doubt it's ever that serious unless it's a wedding ring or something. Most rings are just metal and stone, you know? They turn up in the drain catch or under the couch, nothing wild. (Okay, maybe losing one outside is worse). Usually it's just in the house somewhere boring.
