I finally said no to a rush job on a Rolleiflex and it cost me $600 but saved my week
Last Tuesday a walk-in offered me $600 to turn around a Rolleiflex 3.5F shutter CLA in two days before his daughter's wedding in Denver, and I took it even though I had three backs already open on the bench. I rushed the slow speed escapement, snapped a hairspring at 11pm, and spent the rest of the week chasing a replacement instead of doing the job right from the start. Does anyone here quote a rush fee high enough that it actually makes the stress worth it, or do you just say no?
