I actually stopped using canned air for sensor cleaning after a guy at a Nikon repair seminar read me the riot act
Back in March at a workshop in Portland, this old timer said canned air can leave residue on the sensor that ruins low light shots. He showed me his method with a rocket blower and a swipe pen, and I finally switched over after killing three sensors with spots I couldn't fix. Cost me about $40 for the kit versus the $150 sensor swaps I was doing for clients. Has anyone else found a better way to clean stubborn dust off a shutter curtain without pulling the mirror box?

Yeah, that residue stuff is real... I had a customer's 5D Mark III sensor get wrecked from canned air and it was a nightmare to clean. I learned the hard way too, now I just use a blower and a sensor brush for anything stubborn.

That canned air really is tricky stuff. I used a can to blow dust off my mirrorless lens mount once and it left a greasy film all over the contacts. Had to use lens cleaner and a microfiber cloth to get it off, took forever. Now I just use a squeeze blower for everything too, even if it takes a few extra puffs.
