Heard a customer say 'just glue it back on' about a lens mount

I was at a shop in Portland last week and this guy was dead serious about using superglue for a stripped mount ring. I get the DIY spirit, but some of the torque on those lenses will snap cheap adhesive in a week. Has anyone else had a repair walk in that was made way worse by a quick fix like that?
