Hard disagree on canned air, the old guy at the Dayton camera show had it right
I keep seeing guys on here push canned air for cleaning mirror boxes and it drives me up a wall. I went to the Dayton camera show back in October and got talking to a guy at a parts table who has been fixing bodies since the 80s, and he pulled out one of those cheap rubber squeeze blowers, the 3 dollar kind, and told me canned air sprayed propellant on a sensor is how you turn a 20 dollar job into a 200 dollar job. He had a point. The propellant can spit out of those cans when you tilt them, and I have seen it leave a film on a focusing screen that took a fresh swab and half an hour to clear off. I get that the squeeze bulbs are annoying and don't blast grit out of tight spots, but for anything near the sensor I would rather be annoyed than sorry. So what do you folks use for the stubborn dust that a bulb won't shake loose? I am curious if anyone has a trick short of a full wet clean.
