Broke a delicate ribbon cable while disassembling a compact camera

It snapped clean off... is this repairable or toast?

Yeah that "snapped clean off" part is rough. I saw a video once where a tech guy said these super thin ribbons in compact cameras are basically a nightmare to fix. If the break is right at the connector, sometimes you can micro-solder it back, but that needs crazy steady hands and special tools. Honestly for most regular compact cams, the repair cost would be more than the camera is worth. Those things are not meant to be opened up. It might be toast, sorry man.

My repair kit has a USB microscope for that, but @grant_hernandez is right about the cost.
