A wedding shoot in the rain taught me to always pack a seal kit
I was fixing a photographer's main camera in a muddy field outside Eugene, and the lens mount was full of grit. Since then, I keep a basic set of O-rings and gasket material in my tool bag, even for simple shop calls. Anyone have a better source for those tiny rubber seals on older SLRs?

Oh man, that's so smart! I learned the hard way with an old Nikon FE that got caught in a drizzle. The film door seal had turned to goo and it ruined a whole roll. Now I keep a little bag of foam strips and those skinny rubber rings in my car. Have you tried that camera repair shop in Portland? They sell little kits for classic bodies.

That Portland shop saved my Pentax K1000 last year.
