Zip ties vs. velcro straps for a full home theater setup - which side wins?

I just finished rewiring my entire living room theater after the kids tripped on a loose HDMI cable. I did the whole thing with zip ties first. Clean look but when I had to swap a bad cable three weeks later? Had to cut every single one off with snips. Then I tried velcro straps on my buddy's recommendation. Took longer to install but swapping a dead power cord took two minutes. So here's the debate: do you go for the tidy permanent look of zip ties or the easy maintenance of velcro? I'm leaning velcro now after that nightmare. What do you guys use for setups you know you'll change later?

Velcro all day, not worth the hassle of cutting ties later.

Same idea applies to tool organizers in a garage. You can spend hours making everything look perfect with hard cases, but the second you buy a new drill, you're stuck.
