TIL my dad's old cable management trick actually works better than modern stuff
I was complaining to my dad last weekend about the rat's nest of wires behind my desk. He just laughed and told me to use bread ties instead of those fancy velcro straps I keep buying from Amazon. I thought he was joking but he showed me how he's been doing it for 30 years with the twist ties from bread bags. I tried it on my monitor cables and power strips and honestly it holds way tighter than the velcro ever did. Plus they're free and I already have a drawer full of them from my kitchen. The only downside is you gotta be careful not to twist them too tight or they can pinch the wire coating. Has anyone else gone back to old school stuff like this after trying modern solutions?

Hold up, bread ties? Like the little plastic ones from a loaf of Wonder Bread? That's wild, man. I've been dropping like 15 bucks on those velcro strips every few months and they always lose their stickiness. Gotta try this tonight because my desk wires look like a family of snakes had a party back there. Did your dad actually have a whole system for sorting them by color or something? I bet that old timer has got some other tricks up his sleeve too.

I read somewhere that those twist ties are actually better because they don't stretch out like velcro does.
