Thought zip ties were the answer, now I regret every single one

I used to think zip ties were the only way to go. Last month I tried to swap out a broken power strip behind my desk in Portland, and I had to cut through 14 of those things with wire cutters. Took me an hour to free everything, and I sliced my thumb on a sharp plastic edge. Now I’m switching to velcro straps and wondering why I ever trusted those little plastic monsters. Anyone else have a cable tool they swore by that turned out to be a pain?

Those plastic ties actually get brittle over time in warmer rooms, so they snap at the worst moments. Velcro is way more forgiving when you need to reroute a cable for that new monitor setup. Heat shrink labels on each end of your cords might save you from guessing which one is which later.

Right? I've just given up and let the cables become a tangled mess behind my desk.
