Rant: I zip tied every cable behind my TV, then tried velcro straps. It wasn't even close.
Two Saturdays ago I finally tackled the disaster behind my TV in my Denver apartment. I started with a 100 pack of zip ties I got for $6, thinking I was being smart and cheap. Big mistake. It took me almost 2 hours to get everything bundled and neat, and I felt pretty good about it. Then I needed to swap out my HDMI cable for a new console, and I had to cut every single zip tie just to reach one port. Velcro straps cost $12 for a 50 pack, and swapping that cable took me 30 seconds. I redid the whole setup with velcro the next day and I'm never going back to zip ties. Does anyone actually prefer zip ties for stuff you might need to change later?
