Rant: Hit 500 feet of cable behind my desk and finally admitted defeat
I was moving my desk around last weekend and decided to actually count how much cable I had back there. 500 feet. That's like running a cable from my house to the end of the block and back. It made me realize how much stuff I've accumulated over 15 years. Old USB cables, random power bricks for gadgets I don't even own anymore, a VGA cable I haven't used since 2012. I used to think being tidy with zip ties was enough but that's just hiding the mess. Now I'm sitting here with a pile of cables on the floor wondering if I should just cut them all and start fresh. Has anyone else hit a milestone like this where you just had to admit your setup is out of control?

Label each end with masking tape before you toss anything.

Oh great, @the_kim, because I definitely haven't already thrown away unlabeled cords and regretted it.
